BUprise!!!!!!

She in TIME OUT

First hair cut and first...I don't know what to call it

We went with Brent to watch him get a haircut. Emory got a lolly pop, and must have said, "Daddy, you getting a hair cut?" thirty times. She eventually declared, "I gettin' hair cut, TOO!" Brent's stylist, Clauselle (pronounced kloz'-el), was thrilled to give Emory the first one. Emory was able to sit still in Brent's lap for all of 2 minutes, but it was enough to get the dead ends off. No before/after picture, though. It's pretty much the same.

Emory went shopping with me. First I shopped for a rehearsal dinner dress at Anthropologie. She insisted on taking off her shirt and shoes. She put my shirts and jewelry on one item at a time in coordination with the amount of things I tried on. She walked out to the big mirror and pranced around for the sales ladies. THEN we went to buy Aunt Kitty a lingerie shower present and WOW. I took forever to decide, and apparently there was no rush. Emory LOVED the "intimates" section.

I was distracted with my shopping and turned around to see this. Her explanation, "I pretty."

"I want to buy this for my cousin, Taylor (a girl)."

"I go pay for this dress."

Getting messy

I'm not that big of a fan of mess.... so it's a joyful day when Mommy's distracted on the phone and Emory gets to play with markers.

Looking for fire trucks with Bitty Baby.

"No fire trucks. I saaaaaddddd. No, Mommy. I not sad. I acting."

And Emory turns 2!!

Emory turned two this month! She was so excited about having her own birthday party. When we discussed the birthday she said, "I a WOMAN." Scary....

Our party theme was "Bubbles and Balloons".

What do you do with 12 toddlers and a rain out? Empty a room with furniture and fill it with balloons. I even rolled around in them.

Her one birthday request was for a tu-tu.

Boys didn't seem to mind the cold or rain. They were all about the bubbles.

Party guests

We have made lots of neighborhood friends. Here are Meredith and Claire.

Levi looks like a cherub. So sweet!

Emory and her horses, Honey and Romeo.

Sweet, sweet Bronwyn.

Patricia Caroom, aka "Nana", aka "Catherine's mom".

Co-ed Wedding Extravaganza

Catherine and Ryder are MARRIED. These are a few pictures from their Co-Ed Wedding Extravaganza at our house earlier in the month.

Ever the non-traditionalist, Catherine had no plans of a wedding cake or cake cutting. She we made sure to have something of the sort at our party.
