Snowed In

Yesterday, the high was around 5 degrees in our neighborhood, and it snowed somewhere around 8 inches. The ice on the roads was terrible so I didn't try to drive anywhere. Plus, it takes about 15 minutes to get your car ready to go. Not worth it for a 5 minute drive to Target.

1) You know you're bored and stir crazy when you're willing to wrap you're baby in 18 layers to go for a walk to see a snowman in 5 degree weather.

2) You know it's cold when you have to use a lighter to heat up the deadbolt on the screen door to get it defrosted enough to unlock.

3) You know your neighbors are stir crazy, too, when you get to the snowman, but can't post the picture on the blog because he's doing something X-rated with another snow person.

Ski Bunny

We made a trip up to the mountains this weekend our friends' condo. Our sweet friend Melissa C. babysat Emory in a lodge up Keystone mountain while Brent and I skied. Emory had to bundle up and take her first gondola ride to get up the mountain. She maybe could move, but she didn't try.

New Tricks II

Emory really knows how to test out a good pair of boots.

FISH FACE! She does this all the time now that she's learned it. Any words that sound like fish might get her going...

Blueberries, cheese, tortillias....she really doesn't need much to keep her happy. I'm starting to worry that she might turn blue, though. My pediatrician friend Kasey has told me about orange babies who eat too many carrots.

Not walking on her own yet, but getting very close.

New Tricks

I do find myself still using dog terminology when discussing Emory. But I think that you know what I mean when I say she's learning lots of new baby tricks. Here she's in her big girl chair pretending to read...luckily the book reads to her.

This is saying "hello" to the cell phone. It's funny that babies can't walk or talk, but they can reprogram your phone and use apps.

This is "love the baby". Maddie, the doll, doesn't seem to mind the upside down part of the hug.

Big girl in a little tub. She's about to climb out of it.
