Visit from "Gran-Tex"

My Dad came in for a visit last week. We had a great time. Emory was certainly entertained and he did a great job implementing his granddad skills.

The first picture is along the river path in Golden, Colorado. Sound familiar? It's where Coors Beer is brewed. Cute little town that's very close to Denver. There was a music and movie in the downtown park night and there were tweens everywhere. I overheard one group of 12 year old girls with perfect hair and makeup saying, "We should just be...like, social, talk to them. Did they just say HI???" referring to the tight jeans/skateboard boys down the sidewalk. Brent had a slight anxiety attack as he realized Emory would be one of these creatures one day.

On our hike.

In Washington Park on a walk. I wish we had taken a picture of the boys who took the shot. You never know who you can meet by saying "hello" (which Dad says to everyone). We met some extremely friendly boys from the Congo and Tanzania who have started the 9th grade at South High in Denver. They had a camera out so we took their picture, then they took ours, then they asked to take pictures of and with us. It was really sweet.

  1. Looks like lots of fun with Gran-Tex...I love that name. And Emory looks just like her mommy at that age. Sorry Brent.
